Town Hall Renovation

To renovate this former church into a performance venue, MKA provided an extensive seismic retrofit to address its original 1920s-era concrete and unreinforced masonry construction. In addition to a mechanical mezzanine and catwalk system, MKA’s design of this historic three-story building introduced a new lateral system of concrete shear walls and steel collector elements to stabilize the existing masonry walls.
