The new two-story, 49,000-ft² performing arts center at Oregon State University (OSU) integrates performance with education highlighting the school's goals for an integrated artistic education process. The design includes a 500-seat recital hall, a flexible art gallery, black box theater, and front- and back-of-house spaces. The black box theater incorporates a tension grid and flexible seating for a variety of performance types, while the large recital hall stage can accommodate events ranging from soloists to 100-person performances with a balcony, overhead catwalks, and adjustable acoustical ceiling banners.
