Benaroya Hall

Rising six stories and encompassing an entire city block, this premier venue for the Seattle Symphony features a 2,500-seat concert hall, 600-seat recital hall, rehearsal spaces, and underground parking for 400 vehicles. MKA’s box-within-a-box design is seismically and acoustically isolated from a light-rail tunnel below and street-level bus transit corridor.  Extensive custom precast concrete provides extra sound-absorbing mass while repeating patterns of concrete shapes reduce the required formwork to save costs and complete the project eight months faster than cast-in-place concrete.
