Russell Larsen

Principal

Russell, a Principal at MKA, has worked on office and housing projects throughout the U.S., often in regions with high seismicity.  He leads MKA’s Wind Technical Specialist Team (TST) and is also a key member of the firm’s Analysis, BIM, Concrete, and Steel TSTs.  In addition, Russell is a Task Force Member of the Applied Technology Council (ATC) 58 project, where he is part of a committee developing guidelines for seismic performance assessment of buildings and Performance-Based Seismic Design.  Russell also co-authored and now serves on the steering committee for the Performance-Based Wind Design pre-standard published by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).  He also serves on the ASCE7 wind loads steering committee, overseeing the ASCE7 building code for the 2022 and 2028 code cycles.
