On Saturday, September 7th, roughly 50 MKA-ers, along with family and friends, gathered at Beacon Hill Elementary School to take on an ambitious scope – quite possibly the most deliverables in MKA community service project history!
Build day was an absolute success and all planned projects were completed! Volunteers painted a vibrant tiger mural, painted hopscotch and four-square courts, built a tiger-themed little library (complete with ears and a tail!), constructed a new fence, revamped benches, created a buddy bench, painted a traffic garden and trike path, created sensory pathways, built trike storage sheds, and provided new storage solutions. The team was also happy to help celebrate Seattle Public Schools Volunteer Enhancement program’s 50th anniversary with cupcakes!
Prior to build day, MKA’s Community Service Team Leaders spend several months planning and preparing for build day. Their hard work behind the scenes made all this possible!
Amazing work, team!
