Civil

Bucking the conventional wisdom that civil needs to be local, our firm carries out civil engineering across the country and around the world from our Seattle headquarters. While each city represents a different set of rules and regulations, each also brings a similar set of players (a utility department, a transportation department, a stormwater specialist, etc.) whose goals and needs are very similar from city to city. Perhaps most importantly, our experience brings precedents of “how we did it in Anytown, USA” that can be diplomatically leveraged during city negotiations, which often bring early closure to otherwise contentious issues. Unlike many civil engineers, who take a rote approach to design of the site, utilities, etc., MKA is your design partner intent on realizing the vision of the owner and the architect.
